The heavy lifting has been done for us 🙂 The group of experts gathered and reviewed 219 (yes two hundred nineteen) facial moisturisers. We are truly impressed with the extent of the research and its impartiality.
Our skin care routine developed a lot within last decade. The brands come up with the new formulas and products almost every day. Skin moisture can, in theory, be reinstated by facial serums, oils, primers and even some makeup foundations. Depending on our skin type, your age, you can quickly put together a combo that is going to work magic. For some of us, this combo no longer includes a traditional moisturiser.
Do you still need it?
It seems an important question. And some think that they are better off. And we cannot argue with their choices. Whatever floats your boat, right? What might be a reason why we tend to try out, so many different products and formulas, is just because the moisturisers we had tested out before were not delivering.
Beauty reviews and objectivism
As bloggers, we try to be objective in our reviews. There are some products which we do not necessarily agree upon in our final assessment. And there are only two of us. Almost 200 experts conducted the research for the reviews.com. And what is more important their findings lack salesperson incentive.
The daytime moisturisers have a different objective than the one for the night time. Forgive us that we do not go more deep into the selection criteria. We the beauty freaks appreciate the amount of work that was put into the findings by the original authors.
Without a doubt, after this lecture we have a better perspective and know more about what we should be searching for in the moisturisers that will stand on our vanity shelf.
Top daytime moisturisers
The reviews.com team selected UltraCalming Super Sensitive Shield SPF 30 from Dermalogica as the best daytime moisturiser.
The bareMinerals Complexion Rescue Tinted Hydrating Gel is one of the runner-ups in this category. What seemed to discredit it as a winner was an exaggeration of the dry patches. So probably if in the form of a simple moisturiser without a tint, the bareMinerals would hit a jackpot with it.
Top nighttime moisturiser
Boy, don’t we all want to wake up looking younger than the day before? Apparently, Murad’s Hydro-Dynamic Ultimate Moisture can make that happen. Yes, the price makes our hearts to break a bit too 🙂
If you are curious of other great night moisturisers for a fraction of the price, check out the reviews.com article.
We own dozens of creams and lotions. Some are less or more expensive. Neither of them made the top of the list. Maybe that is why we keep on buying a product after product. After some consideration, the reasons behind a new purchase seem to be bit ridiculous. We feel we have to learn more about what we spend our money on and what is more important, what we put on our skin, ingredients wise.
This research will definitely help us to make better choices for the future.
