Dior 5 Couleurs High Fidelity Colours & Effects Eyeshadow Palette in Attract is part of the Summer 2017 Limited Edition Dare & Care makeup collection. I was immediately drawn to it! I hesitated about which colour option I should go for, but in the end, I left with the warm golden bronze option with a vibrant pink as an enhancing shade.
Dior 5 Couleurs Palettes
The 5 Couleurs eyeshadow palettes are supposed to provide all the shades necessary to obtain full eye makeup look. The palettes come in a black plastic case with a high-quality mirror inside. With the Attract, you get two small applicators.
The 7 grammes of the actual product is not a staggering amount for over €60 ($63) per palette.
The Summer Vibe
All the shades in the Attract palette are highly pigmented. The texture is not overly powdery, and there is almost no kick back during application.
The colour selection is perfect for the summer. The light pearl highlighting shade has subtle pink hue which makes it work perfectly with the rest of the warm toned shadows.
There are no absolute mattes inside. The finish of the shadows is on the Dior-like satin and metallic finish. I do stand behind the Dior’s claim about the colours on the eyelid being identical to the colours inside of the palette.
I love their durability. The shadows do not crease on me, and what I like the most is the final look on the eyelids. Thumbs up! Overall, I do think it is a good eyeshadow palette.
I do not owe other 5 Couleurs from Dior. What I do have is their Voyage Edition Couture Palette. Different versions are available at the airports’ duty-free shops.
Mine has 8 different eyeshadows, I love their buttery texture. Their consistency has been my reference point of how I want my satin/shimmery eyeshadow to apply and look on my eyelids since I got it a few years ago.
So I was a bit surprised that the Attract palette didn’t meet those standards. I can say that I preferred the Dior eyeshadows before reformulation.
The shadows in the Attract palette do blend evenly. But the buttery feeling that got me so hooked on the Voyage palette is not present here. I do not know which one I should qualify as the “Dior standard”. Maybe I even shouldn’t compare them. Since the companies tend to, among others, formulate their products based on the packaging the product is kept later.
What I am trying to say, is that the Dior 5 Couleurs Eyeshadow Palette in Attract is a beautiful palette, and it is one of the best eyeshadow palettes I owe, but I do prefer the Voyage eyeshadows consistency.
I am also curious about the new Diorshow Pump’N’Volume Mascara. I want to finish my Bourjois mascara before I try this one out. So if you have already tried it let me know what you think.
Thanks for the read, XO!
