I know, I know. You might ask yourselves the same question. Does anybody still need yet another nude eyeshadow palette? The answer is yes. Let me tell you why. I didn’t like their previous formulations. They were very powdery and barely pigmented. I got them a few years ago and I couldn’t care less about them. I swatched the Catrice Cosmetics The Essential Nude Collection Eyeshadow Palette out of curiosity when I was walking around my local drugstore. My first response was – WOW these are different.

ReNude My Style
Do not get me wrong with this product is not a game changer in any shape or form. But it is worth recommendation anyway.
The palette container is a traditional Catrice packaging. It’s lightweight but still feels very solid. The previous palette had very similar shades. The Essential Nude Collection Eyeshadow Palette has an additional row of shadows: shimmery Light and matte Sculpt.
The palette contains three shimmery and six matte eye shadows. The two light mattes are barely pigmented but the rest of the shadows are absolutely amazing for their price range.
The swatches were made without a flash light.
I am amazed!
I do own more expensive eyeshadow palettes. And one of my favourite day time palettes is the cool toned She’s a Model from MAC. What was bit unexpected for me, was the fact how much I had been using this palette since the day I bought it.
I completely forgot MAC and Dior for a good few days. So what do I like about this palette so much?
First of all, almost no fall down during application and noticeable difference in the consistency of the shadows in comparison with the powdery and almost chunky previous Catrice eyeshadows palettes.
They blend seamlessly! I have more trouble with some MAC eye shadows, to be honest. Maybe it is the fact that my makeup skills are not elevated and I do have some issues with extremely pigmented shadows.
With my basic set of skills, it is very effortless to create a day and an evening looks only with this palette.
You have highlighters, transition shades and Sculpt shade is perfect as an eye liner.
Any Essential Nude Downsides?
To be honest, besides the two first mattes not showing up that much on the eyelids, I can’t find anything to dis this palette for. Currently, I like it even more than the Bare Essentials from Milani, and oh boy I do love that one!
It might be the price of the palette that is affecting my judgment. Here in the Netherlands, it costs € 4,99 for 10 grammes of a product. And it has 24 months of shelve life in comparison to 6 months for the Dior 5 Couleurs High Fidelity Colours & Effects Eyeshadow Palette in Attract. Which cost me €60 in case you are wondering.
Naturally, I shouldn’t be comparing the two, since they offer different colours and Dior shadows colour payoff is beyond this world. But with the spritz of MAC Fix+ I am able to squeeze up to 8 hours of lovely eye colour out of this palette, which is enough for me.
I do not know if this palette is available worldwide yet. But you should keep your eyes open and put your hands on it once you have a chance!
