With the all-around presence of the Morphe products in the beauty community, it was a matter of time before we would put our hands on it. Morphe Brushes 12NB Natural Beauty Palette is a part of their Pick Me Up Collection. If you follow us on Instagram you know that we have been playing with it since October.
Morphe Brushes has a broad range of products in their assortment and probably it is the most known for their eyeshadow palettes and makeup brushes. The 12NB palette charmed us with the beautiful selection of the natural colours selection.
As you can see from the picture above, the majority of the eyeshadows are matte. We thought it would be great as an everyday makeup palette. Probably, we all cannot have enough of them 😉 In October we paid €15,00 for it, which is a decent price for twelve eyeshadows. Apparently, now the price is slightly higher.
The plastic packaging is very light; it feels like every other drug store brand plastic. Nothing outstanding. What is noticeable once you open the box is the smell of the product inside. It is quite intense at first, but it disappears with time. And it is not something that would absolutely stop you from wearing it on your face, oh no.
Well pigmented eyeshadows on a budget?
It is already well-known fact that some of the Morphe eyeshadows perform better than others. But the affordability of their products makes the beauty junkies go for the bigger, 35 piece eyeshadow palettes because they know the majority of the shadows will work just fine.
We didn’t want to add to much force when we made the swatches. Of course, we could layer up the eyeshadows for the maximum visual effect. The swatches were made just as they would be done with other product.
Talc is their first ingredient so that can explain the texture. Let’s leave the mineral oil and synthetic colourants comment out. We all know what we are paying for over here. What is the noticeable effect of the high talk content eyeshadows, can be overall eyelid dryness after the makeup is done. What emphasises the fine lines and eyelid texture if you are no longer twenty-something.
We both used the palette. Below you can see the eye makeup look created by Magdalena.
The noticeable PRO
Without a doubt, it would be the bendability of the eyeshadows. It is quite decent making the palette beginners and time friendly. The 12NB did pretty well with just a small amount of product. So it would be hard for us to call it the ultimate failure.
The colour payoff can be magnified when the eyeshadow base is used. But for an everyday quick makeup look, when you have few minutes before you leave to work do you really should do that? Our experience with City Color palettes shows that you do not necessarily have to.
To wrap it up, for now, we are going to refrain from buying another Morphe Brushes eyeshadow palettes.
